For decades, the Herbruck family of Michigan has been supplying farm-fresh eggs to major retailers and food service outlets. Founded by Harry and Marilyn Herbruck in Ionia County in 1958, and its roots stretch back to the late 1920s, when Harry Herbruck Sr. began an egg delivery company.
The company celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008. Today Herbruck’s Poultry Ranch is the largest egg producer in Michigan and the 13th largest in the United States.
The company’s flock has grown from 3,000 laying hens in the 1950s to nine million today. As such, the Herbruck Poultry Ranch approached us to help them develop a Poultry Manure Drying System that can handle the volume that their size flock can produce.
Uzelac Industries developed a drying system consisting of a 15MM Btu/hr Burner supplied by Maxon, a Uzelac Industries Furnace, a Uzelac Industries single pass drum, 8’-8'” diameter X 28’ long. The Allen Bradley Panel View PLC Systems Controls were designed and provided by Uzelac Industries.
The primarily stainless steel system is designed to process 15 tons per hour of poultry manure at 30% moisture content and dry it to 15% moisture content.
“Uzelac provided excellent technical support and follow up on the dryer installation.”
